To share the field experience and knowledge of grape growers and winemakers from the four corners of the globe (Australia, Brazil, California, etc.). They will comment on and contribute to each scientific and technical presentation.

The experts will review current knowledge and research in both viticulture and oenology. They will also discuss topics dealing with the Syrah marketplace and the image of this varietal throughout the world. The more recent research will be discussed, and internationally renowned experts will be present..

The organisers hope that this conference will contribute to the following:

  • To share the knowledge acquired by researchers and the results of ongoing studies with wine industry professionals who work with Syrah.
  • To foster meetings, discussions and long-term relationships between experts and practitioners.
  • To create an international gatekeeping body for scientific, technical and marketing developments related to Syrah.

The Rhône Valley, Syrah's ancestral home, was the obvious choice to host this international symposium dedicated to furthering Syrah quality.
